Anna Cook

URL:

http://www.annacook.net

Skills:

I’m Anna Cook, a web copywriter and content strategist.

To people that don’t make up their job titles that means I act as an advocate for internet users by making web content findable, readable and up to date.
I sit in the spot between client and customer and mediate the best results for both.

The copywriting part of my work creates words specifically for the web and the content strategy part keeps that content sharp and manageable.

Integration with other sapiens is important so I like to work onsite or in close contact with my clients. Being there to ask questions and discuss solutions is also pretty crucial to getting it right.

Bio:

I’m a freelancer with 4 years copywriting and 2 years content strategy experience.
In my portfolio you’ll find the public sector megasites and private sector modestsites that have experienced a complete rewiring or creative polish.

I also have a borderline obsession with bicycles so when I’m not sitting hunched over my computer I’ll be, erm, sitting hunched over my bike.

Bio:

2006

Started out studying an NQ in Sound Production at North Glasgow College in Springburn.

2007

Moved up to a 2 year HND and received the College Prize for HND Sound Production (Year 1).

Using knowledge gained from college I started recording friends bands around Glasgow and East Kilbride using my own equipment to gain more experience.

  • Started work at Global Connects as a sound engineer recording and mixing translation documents.

2008

  • Recorded bass guitar parts for LJR’s Basement & Forget About Us in Rico’s Doghouse Studios. Single and B-Side were released in May.
  • Supported Dead Kennedys at Edinburgh’s Liquid Rooms in May on their only Scottish UK tour date. In September, LJR also played with Coolio at the Freshers Festival in George Square, Glasgow.

2009

  • Composed music for 3 scenes of Enlightened Monster Pictures’ short zombie comedy film, Generic Dead.
  • Film Director Mark Sloss used LJR’s Basement on the soundtrack for short film Vanille, screened at the Cannes Film Festival and the French Film Festival. Before splitting, the band ended on a high by creating a number of At An End and Nurnberg remixes and headlining Glasgow’s famous King Tut’s venue.

2010

  • Worked for Abertay University to create music for a show-reel video which displays the work of animation and computer games students. Also recently created music for another Abertay video which is portrays a day in the life of a student at Abertay.

Stewart Priest

URL:

www.audioninjas.eu

Skills:

I specialise in creating great sounding audio for pretty much any purpose. From Radio Imaging to Commercial Production to Podcasting to On-Hold Messages, I can produce creative, ear-grabbing audio to make your clients sit up and listen.

I have a large network of music and voiceover talent I can call upon – I can even get you that ruddy bloke off E4 and The X Factor!

Bio:

audioninjasLike most people with my skillset, my life as an audio producer started off in Hospital Radio. At Radio Lollipop in Glasgow to be exact. After a few years there, I hit the big time and joined GMG Radio. You know them, don’t you? No? Maybe if I said ‘Real Radio’, ‘Smooth Radio’ or ‘Rock Radio’. Yep – I’ve worked on them all.

Now though, I’m out on my own. Freelancing lets me work on all kinds of different projects – I’ve worked with Reid Kerr College to create the sound of their radio station, I’ve created podcasts and I’ve worked with small businesses to create that annoying little set of messages you hear when you’re put on hold. Mine don’t annoy though.

I’ve worked with other producers and copywriters to bring their ideas to life and will continue to do so until they take my mixing desk away!

Oh, and I’m a self-proclaimed Audio Ninja.

Skills:

Social media
Community management
Digital marketing
Customer engagement
Copywriting
Proof reading/making it look like you know anything about grammar and syntax.
Market research
Event and project management

Bio:

Amanda-PorrelliMandy is an acutely ambitious, massively multitalented and frightfully forward thinking 20 something who loves people, art, the internet and video games. Ah, and alliteration.

A social media whiz kid with a stupidly long history of community management, graphic design, event management, knowing other people’s business and running other people’s business. She’s also quite good at bossing people around and getting away with it.

An aficionado of the internet, Mandy is an experienced forum, webring and website administrator; IRC chatroom channel operator; ventrilo/teamspeak administrator; blogger; reviewer; Tweeter; and alpha/beta tester – Mandy loves new challenges and meeting new people, to the point that she has somehow convinced nearly 600 people that her 140 character Twitter missives are worth reading on an almost hourly basis (but they are clearly all mental.)
