Bio:

I am an award winning professional photographer specialising in creative corporate, editorial, public relations (PR) and portrait photography. Based in Edinburgh, I work across Scotland and the UK. I am an expert in lighting techniques and have extensive knowledge of the media industry.

But I don’t hide behind lights and equipment. Taking a good picture is as much about people skills as about technical ability. Perhaps it’s my background – I used to be a teacher – that helps me get the best out of the subject. I also work quickly. I get the picture and send it out fast – to the client and the media. Images can be wired to national and regional press within minutes.

And I know what picture editors are looking for. I began work as a staff photographer for the Scotsman Publications, providing high quality images to Edinburgh Evening News, The Scotsman and Scotland on Sunday. I treat each client as a long term relationship. You may be a business start up or an established large organisation. What matters is trust and understanding. You trust me to deliver and I understand your aims. We work together.

My long standing clients include VisitScotland, Taylor Wimpey, Historic Scotland and Weber Shandwick. We’ve been together for over three years so I must be doing something right. As the official photographer for Homecoming Scotland 2009, I documented events across the length and breadth of Scotland. In August last year I was the official photographer for the Media Guardian Edinburgh International Television Festival.
